Project

Programming for The Arc Community Greenspace

Description

Building off of the last five summers of programming for The Greenspace, the goal of this summer’s work was to develop a series of between four and eight formal/structured community events that will be planned and implemented between June & September. These events include live music concerts (typically in collaboration with Meadville Neighborhood Center), local theater, outdoor movies, and other family friendly events.

Outcome

Organized and presented five art and community engagement events for The Greenspace including: Second Saturday Night Live Jazz Concert; Summer Solstice Celebration; Lunchtime Lift Concert with Pianist Paul Groh; Pearl's Garlic Festival; Family Movie Night. Coordinated social media outreach for these events. Recreated The Arc's online Visitor's Survey. Developed a volunteer checklist for use of the site during events. Worked with Redevelopment Authority gathering preliminary community input for potential development ideas for 960 Park Ave (adjacent to The Greenspace).
