Project

Environmental Education – Crawford County Conservation District

Description

The mission of the Crawford County Conservation District is “to protect, conserve, and restore the natural resources of the county for present and future generations by actively seeking resources and partnerships to achieve these goals through voluntary cooperation.” The Environmental Education programs seek to engage citizens of all ages in a variety of programming and activities with the goals of getting people outside, fostering an appreciation of nature, and connecting them with knowledge and support for taking practical and actionable care of the environment on their properties and in our county. The student will have the opportunity to work closely with and be mentored by the Environmental Education Specialist who develops and delivers nearly weekly programs throughout the year, educational videos, activities, and kits (visible at their website).

Outcome

Work alongside the Environmental Education Specialist to assist with the planning and delivery of programs already in the works for the summer. The specialist, who has 18+ years of experience, will offer mentorship, teaching through experience, and a supportively challenging professional environment.
